Online Banking Agreement & Disclosure

Your Responsibility:

Your first use of Online Banking confirms your agreement to and understanding of the terms and conditions in the Online Banking Agreement, which describes in detail all aspects of using this service. You are responsible for keeping your password, account numbers, personal identification information and other account information confidential. You are also responsible for using a compatible web browser that has a high security standard.

First Bethany Bank is not responsible for customer errors or negligent use of Online Banking and will not be liable for losses due to:

  • Negligent handling or sharing of passwords leading to unauthorized access to accounts.
  • Data input errors.
  • Leaving your computer unattended during access. Be sure to sign off to end the session.
  • Failure to report known incidents of unauthorized account access within 2 business days.

Online Banking Agreement

General Description of the Online Agreement.

This Online Banking Agreement (the "Online Agreement") for accessing your accounts via Online Banking explains the terms and conditions governing the following online services: account access, and other services offered through Online Banking (collectively, the "Online Financial Services").  By using the Online Financial Services you agree to abide by the terms and conditions of this Online Agreement. This Online Agreement will be governed by and interpreted in accordance with all applicable federal laws and regulations and the laws of the state of Oklahoma.

Your use of Online Banking may also be affected by the agreements between us for your deposit, credit card, and other linked accounts. When you link accounts to Online Banking, this does not change the agreements you already have with us on those accounts. For example, when you use Online Banking to access a credit account, you do so under the terms and conditions we gave you in the agreement and disclosure for the credit account. You should review those agreements for any applicable fees, for limitations on the number of transfers you can make, and for other restrictions which might impact your use of an account with Online Banking.

The following rules will apply to the extent there is no applicable federal law or regulation. The terms "we," "us," "our," and "Bank" refer to First Bethany Bank & Trust. The terms "First Bethany", "First Bethany Bank" and "FBBT" refer to First Bethany Bank & Trust. "You" refers to each signer on an account. The term "business day" shall mean every day except Saturdays, Sundays and federal banking holidays.

Accessing your accounts with Online Banking

Requirements for use

To access your accounts through Online Banking, you must have an eligible account (listed below), a User ID and a password. In addition, you must have the required software, i.e. compatible web browsers with 256-bit encryption.

All First Bethany Bank personal deposit accounts and lending accounts are eligible accounts as long as you are a signer, co-signer or the owner or co-owner of the account.


There are no monthly or transaction fees for accessing your personal account(s) through Online Banking. Other fees, as described in the deposit account information, may apply to services ordered online and to transfers to and from your accounts. Please note that fees may be assessed and billed separately by your online service provider and are not included in Online Banking.

Electronic Mail (E-mail)

You may contact us through e-mail by using Online Banking. Sending E-mail through Online Banking is a way to communicate with customer service of the Bank. However, please note that email service is not secure and you should not provide any personal information in any email to the Bank. Additionally, you cannot use E-mail to initiate transactions on your account(s). For banking transactions, please use the appropriate functions within Online Banking or call 405-789-1110.

New Services

First Bethany Bank may, from time to time, introduce new Online Financial Services. We shall update this Online Agreement to notify you of the existence of these new services. By using these services when they become available, you agree to be bound by the terms contained in this Online Agreement. Notification of new services may also be shown in the remarks section on the first page of the Online Banking screen or we will notify you via e-mail if you provide us with your e-mail address. You may stop e-mail notifications by notifying our Bookkeeping department at  .

Online Banking Advantages

You can manage your eligible personal accounts from anywhere in the world on your personal computer. You may use Online Banking to:

  • View account balances and transaction history.
  • Transfer money between accounts.
  • View account transaction history

Online Banking Terms and Conditions.

The first time you access any of your accounts through Online Banking confirms your agreement to be bound by all the terms and conditions of this Online Agreement and acknowledges your receipt and understanding of this disclosure.

Your User ID and Password

You will be given a User ID and a Password that will give you access to your accounts through Online Banking. Online Banking will prompt you to change your Password the first time you log on. If you forget your Password, you may notify First Bethany Bank and we will reset your Password to the original Password. You will be required to change your password every sixty (90) days.  The Bank is entitled to act on instructions received under your Password. For security purposes, it is recommended that you memorize this online Password and do not write it down. You are responsible for keeping your Password and account data confidential.

Account Eligibility

All First Bethany customers are eligible for Online Banking services. However, restrictions governing account types are still in effect and any terms and conditions associated with your depository accounts take precedence over any terms outlined in the Agreement. Additionally, if you close all your accounts, you must notify First Bethany Bank Customer Service to cancel your Online Banking services. Your Online Banking services may be canceled at any time without prior notice due to insufficient funds in one of your accounts. After cancellation, Online Banking services may be reinstated, once sufficient funds are available in your accounts, to cover any fees and other pending transfers or debits. In order to reinstate your services, you must call First Bethany Bank Bookkeeping at 405-789-1110.

If you do not access your accounts via Online Banking for any three-month period, we reserve the right to disconnect your service.

You agree to be responsible for any online service provider and telephone charges, which you incur by accessing your accounts through Online Banking.

If you wish to cancel any of your Online Financial Services offered through Online Banking, please contact First Bethany Bank Bookkeeping at 405-789-1110 or send us cancellation instructions in writing to First Bethany Bank, P.O. Box 218, Bethany, Oklahoma, 73008.

Our Liability

Except as specifically provided in this Online Agreement or where the law requires a different standard, you agree that neither we nor the service providers shall be responsible for any loss, property damage or bodily injury, any indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages whether caused by the equipment, software, the Bank, OR by Internet browser providers such as Safari® (Apple® browser) and Microsoft® (Microsoft Internet Explorer® browser), OR by Internet access providers OR by online service providers OR by an agent or subcontractor of any of the foregoing, nor shall we or the service providers be responsible for any direct, indirect, special or consequential, economic or other damages arising in any way out of the installation, use or maintenance of the equipment, software, the Online Banking services, or Internet browser or access software.

Hours of Accessibility

You can access your accounts through Online Banking seven days a week, 24 hours a day. However, at certain times, some or all of Online Banking may not be available due to system maintenance.

A transfer initiated through Online Banking before 6:00 PM (Central Time) on a business day is posted to your account the same day. All transfers completed after 6:00 PM (Central Time) on a business day or on a Saturday, Sunday or banking holiday, may be posted on the next business day. Our business days are Monday through Friday, except for banking holidays. "Banking holidays" shall mean all federal banking holidays.

Additional Terms and Conditions

Obtaining Account Balance and Transaction History - You can obtain balance and transaction history on all eligible accounts that are enrolled in Online Banking. See Section 2 for specific accounts accessible through Online Banking. Account balance and transaction history reflects activity through the close of the previous business day.
Transferring Funds - The number of transfers from accounts may be limited as described in the applicable portions of the deposit account information. If a hold has been placed on deposits made to an account from which you wish to transfer funds, you cannot transfer the portion of the funds held until the hold expires.

General Terms for using Online Banking.

Changes to Charges, Fees or Other Terms

First Bethany Bank reserves the right to change the charges, fees or other terms described in this Online Agreement. When changes are made to any fees, charges, or other material terms, we will update this Online Agreement and either send a notice to you at the address shown on our records, or send you an electronic mail message (E-mail). The notice will be posted or sent at least thirty (30) days in advance of the effective date of any additional fees for online transactions, or of any stricter limits on the type, amount or frequency of transactions or any increase in your responsibility for unauthorized transactions, unless an immediate change is necessary to maintain the security of the system. If such a change is made, and it can be disclosed without jeopardizing the security of the system, we will provide you with electronic or written notice within thirty (30) days after the change. You may choose to accept or decline changes by continuing or discontinuing the accounts or services to which these changes relate. We also reserve the option, in our business judgment, to waive, reduce or reverse charges or fees in individual situations. Changes to fees applicable to specific accounts are governed by the applicable Depositor Contract and the deposit account information.

Disclosure of Account Information

You authorize the Bank and each of its affiliates to disclose to third parties, agents, and affiliates, such as independent auditors, consultants or attorneys, information you have provided or that we or our affiliates have obtained about your accounts and the transfers you make:

  • to comply with government agency or court orders or requests; or
  • to verify the existence and condition of your account for a third party, such as a credit bureau or merchant; or
  • where it is necessary for completing transfers; or
  • to provide services relating to your account; or
  • if you give us your further permission.

Questions or Error Correction on Online Banking

In case of questions or errors about online funds transfers through Online Banking involving a Bank account, you should do one of the following:

Call First Bethany Bank at 405-789-1110, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM Monday - Friday, except for banking holidays. "Banking holidays" shall mean all federal banking holidays.

Write to First Bethany Bank, P.O. Box 218, Bethany, Oklahoma 73008 as soon as you identify any errors or discrepancies in your statement or transaction record, or if you need more information about a transaction listed on the statement or transaction record.

We must hear from you no later than sixty (60) days after we have sent the first paper or online statement on which the problem or error appeared. If you notify us verbally, we may require that you send us your complaint or question in writing within ten (10) business days.

When you tell us about the problem, please:

  • Tell us your name and account number.
  • Describe the error or the transaction you are unsure about, and explain why you believe it is in error or what additional information you need.
  • Tell us the dollar amount of any suspected error.

If we do not complete a transfer to or from your Bank account on time or in the correct amount according to our agreement with you, we will be liable for your losses or damages. However, there are some exceptions. We will not be liable:

  • If, through no fault of ours, you do not have enough money in your account to make a transfer.
  • If a legal order directs us to prohibit withdrawals from the account.
  • If your account is closed or if it has been frozen.
  • If the transfer would cause your balance to go over the credit limit for any credit arrangement set up to cover overdrafts.
  • If you, or anyone you allow, commits any fraud or violates any law or regulation.
  • If any electronic terminal, telecommunication device, or any part of the electronic fund transfer system is not working properly.
  • If you have not properly followed the instructions for using Online Banking.
  • If circumstances beyond our control (such as fire, flood or improper transmission or handling of payments by a third party) prevent the transfer, despite reasonable precautions taken by us.

Other General Terms

Other Agreements - In addition to this Online Agreement you agree to be bound by and will comply with the requirements of the applicable portions of the deposit account information, prospectuses for any mutual funds, the Bank's rules and regulations, the rules and regulations of any funds transfer system to which the Bank belongs, and applicable state and federal laws and regulations. We agree to be bound by them also.
Bank's Right to Terminate this Agreement - The Bank reserves the right to terminate this Online Agreement and your access to Online Financial Services through Online Banking, in whole or in part, at any time.
No Third Party Access - You further agree to not permit any third parties to have access to your account at Online Banking.

Assignment - The Bank may assign this Online Agreement to its parent corporation or to any now-existing or future direct or indirect subsidiary of its parent corporation. The Bank may also assign or delegate certain of its rights and responsibilities under this Online Agreement to independent contractors or other third parties.

Protecting Your Account

Preventing Misuse of Your Account

Your role is extremely important in the prevention of any wrongful use of your account. You must promptly examine your statement upon receipt. If you find that your records and ours disagree, you must immediately call First Bethany Bank Bookkeeping at 405-789-1110.

Protecting Personal Information - In addition to protecting your account information, you should take precautions to protect your personal identification information, such as your driver's license, Social Security Number, etc. This information by itself or together with information on your account may allow unauthorized access to your account(s). It is your responsibility to protect personal information with the same level of care that you protect your account information.

Safeguard Your Online Password - The Password and User ID that is used to gain access to Online Financial Services through Online Banking should be kept confidential. For your protection we require that you change your online Password every sixty (90) days. We recommend that you memorize this online PASSWORD and do not write it down. You are responsible for keeping your PASSWORD, account numbers and other account data confidential. If you believe that your online PASSWORD may have been lost or stolen, or that someone has transferred or may transfer money from your account without your permission, notify First Bethany Bank Bookkeeping at once at 405-789-1110.

Unauthorized Transactions in Your Accounts

Notify us at once if you believe another person has improperly obtained your online PASSWORD. Also notify us if someone has transferred or may transfer money from your Bank deposit account without your permission, or if you suspect any fraudulent activity on your account. Only reveal your account number to a legitimate entity for a purpose you authorize (such as your insurance company for automatic payments). To notify us, call First Bethany Bank Bookkeeping at 405-789-1110, between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM Monday - Friday, except for banking holidays. "Banking holidays" shall mean all federal banking holidays, or write to First Bethany Bank, P.O. Box 218, Bethany, Oklahoma 73008.

If your online PASSWORD has been compromised and you tell us within two (2) business days after you learn of the loss or theft, you can lose no more than $50 if someone used your online password without your permission to access a Bank deposit account. If you do NOT tell us within two (2) business days after you learn of the loss or theft, and we could have stopped someone from taking money without your permission had you told us, you could lose as much as $500.

Also, if your statement shows withdrawals, transfers or purchases that you did not make or authorize, please notify us at once. If you do not notify us within sixty (60) days after the paper or online statement was sent to you, and we could have stopped someone from taking money if you had told us in time, you may not get back any money lost after the sixty (60) days.

Other Fees and Charges

You should note that on accessing Online Banking, you may incur charges for:

  • normal account fees and service charges, or
  • any Internet service provider fees.

Payments or transfers made through Online Banking from a savings account may result in an excess transaction fee. See your savings or money market account for details. Additionally, fees may be assessed for added features of Online Banking such as check and statement copy orders, and non-sufficient funds. Please consult your deposit account information to see if your accounts qualify for these fees.
